ESSAOUIRA DAY TOUR FROM MARRAKECH
Take a full-day private trip to Essaouira, one of the most attractive coastal cities in Morocco. Its charm is undeniable, with its white houses with blue shutters, art galleries, carpentry workshops, fishermen and colorful boats, all surrounded by ancient red walls. Your private tour starts at your hotel or riad at 08:00. Depart Marrakech, driving through lush valleys filled with orange groves, ancient olive trees and farms. Stop in Chichaoua for a coffee or snack at Café Afoulki.
Continue past your first argan trees. These special trees are valued for their nutritional, cosmetic and medicinal properties. A relict species of the Tertiary era, it is extremely well adapted to the drought and other harsh environmental conditions of southwestern Morocco and, although now endangered, is under UNESCO protection. Arrive in Essouira and stroll the ancient streets, where it's easy to imagine life in front of you. The streets have a Portuguese feel, after they renamed the city in the 16th century and used it as a port city in its own right.
